Artist Statement for my TREES

I LOVE MY TREES I MAKE THEM PRETTY. Using the tablet is like COMPLICATED because you gotta drag the cursor around but I managed to work it out. I wanted to try something different by using colors I don’t normally use together and I wanted give it different feel, because colors can easily affect the mood.

I had multiple ideas for the background but I had trouble executing it. At first I just wanted it with a white background. Then I wanted to do something else. I remembered Photoshop had a gradient tool and I wanted to test it out after not using it since FOREVER. I didn’t know WHAT colors I wanted and people kept giving me INPUT for the gradient. I tried SO MANY COLORS and so many DIRECTIONS for the gradient and I ended up with the one I posted.

BUT THEN I wanted to do ANOTHER BACKGROUND. I wanted to do one that I ACTUALLY DREW and not just…….you know……..half a**ed it (LOOK I JUST CENSORED IT). I put a gradient AGAIN (I just noticed I put another gradient in. But for a good cause) and then I wanted to do it as like a night sky…thing. I think I could’ve chosen better colors to fit the mood of the tree but I guess it’s I don’t know A LITTLE TOO LATE TO CHANGE IT.

But the tree itself I like. I mean given the fact I used a Photoshop, a small tablet and no pen pressure, I think I did pretty good. Maybe in the future I’ll get better with color theory. Also maybe NOT choose AN UGLY COLOR for the line art for the tree. It’s absolutely hideous. Absolutely disgusting.

OPT OUT

So get this: I’ll take pictures of………….wait for it…………………….trees. Easy and fun for the whole family. I don’t really want to do the project but since we walk by DOZENS of trees when we take photos, I thought HEY why not. It can trees from ants eye and just different angles that aren’t BAD.

If they DO end up BAD then that’s entirely my fault and it’s because I hate myself. Go nuts.

GET IT because nuts grow on trees. Acorns. I doubt there’s any acorns around here but I’m not taking pictures of acorns anyway. I’m taking pictures of trees.

It’s like the Lorax all over again. I am the Lorax, I speak for the trees – wait- I speak for the trees for the trees have no tongue and I’m asking you ma’am from the top of my lungs: let me do this pathetic and boring opt out.

Final woo

Uh honestly I forgot the photographers name which is just hilarious but anyway um you can TECHNICALLY say i was following an artist that I DIDN’T write about because it was kind of hard to fully immerse myself intl the artist i wrote about and try to capture his style of photography and also I don’t know if you notice but i kind of SUCK at photography because I have no patience for it. But anyway.

I wouldn’t say these are the BEST because I had a lot of trouble because I would just take a picture and move on with my life without checking them to see if there were spots in the picture or if there was blurriness in them. Sometimes it worked out and sometimes it didn’t. That’s the sad, sad life of me.

I mean I REALLY TRIED but not as much as I would’ve like to. Basically I should’ve tried a little bit HARDER.

edits because i die

Okay so I had like «NORMAL» edits and then i have  «FUN EDITS» which are the ones that have like some weird looking colors. Also the photos with Yoshua, Stephen and Devon are so old but I’m pretty sure I never posted them so I’m posting them. Right now. You’re welcome.

that photographer thing

Ansel Adams was born in 1902 and died in 1948. I don’t know where the hell he worked but he usually took photos of nature and scenery. Also he liked hiking. That could mean something. He had a friend named Fred Archer and he and Adams developed the technique called the Zone System to determine «proper exposure and adjust the contrast». I don’t know if anyone else had a BIG ROLE in his life sooooooooo yeah.

APPARENTLY this dude was interested in nature as a child but like… THIS DUDE WAS A PIANO KID. That was his main interest as a 12 year old and was taught by VARIOUS composers. I have no idea if he even WENT to school it just said he liked piano and music. But like apparently learning some techniques and training on piano helped him in taking photos. The birth of a photographer.

He usually does nature stuff. Mountains, some leaves, some rocks over here a little dirt over there. They’re ALL black and white. I THINK he did color stuff too but OBVIOUSLY that never caught on. Also he didn’t really like it. Anyway. They’re usually wide shit photos like damn they’re huge. And wide. And dramatic like they’re SOOOOOOO DRAMATIC.

i don’t really want to do this dudes style because I don’t know what you mean by that but also if I did I’d have to make my pictures black and white and stuff. I’m just taking random pictures to be honest I need a grade you know. I just wrote about this guy because he was the first one I saw when I said, «Let me just write about whatever.» Which means I was at the bottom of the list when I said that. Literally no one caught my eye. No one.

Anyway here ar ehis pictures you’re lucky I found 10 because I wasn’t gonna do this at all actually but then you said, «If you answer the questions and you don’t post any picture you get a 50,» and that KINDA pissed me off so whatever.
